Vascular Surgery

At Wyoming Medical Associates, our vascular surgery services encompass a wide spectrum of treatments, from advanced diagnostic procedures to cutting-edge interventions, ensuring the comprehensive care you need for vascular health.

Varicose Vein Treatment

Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that often appear in the legs due to weakened or damaged vein walls and valves. These veins can cause discomfort, pain, and aching sensations. We offer effective treatments such as foam sclerotherapy, a minimally invasive injection that collapses and fades smaller veins. For larger more complex veins we offer phlebectomy, surgical removal of the vein.

Venous Insufficiency Diagnosis & Treatment

Venous insufficiency is a medical condition where the veins in the legs have difficulty returning blood to the heart, often resulting in symptoms like swelling, pain, and skin changes in the legs and in progressed cases skin ulcerations and non-healing wounds.

Diagnosis typically includes a specialized ultrasound to assess vein function and identify damaged veins.

Treatment Options:

  • Venaseal: This medical-grade adhesive is used to fill and seal off the damaged vein, preventing further blood flow and promoting healing.

  • Radiofrequency Ablation: This procedure uses heat generated by a device to close off the damaged vein, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins.

  • Varithena: A compounded foam sclerosant is injected into the damaged vein, causing it to collapse and rerouting blood flow.

IVC Filter Placement

IVC filters, or Inferior Vena Cava filters, are medical devices used to prevent blood clots from reaching the lungs and causing pulmonary embolisms. They are recommended when patients are at risk of clots, and other treatments are not suitable. IVC filters can be a crucial intervention for those with conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or specific surgical situations.

Diagnostic Venogram

A diagnostic venogram is a medical imaging test that uses a contrast dye to visualize and assess the condition of veins in the body. It helps diagnose vascular issues like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and guides treatment decisions.

Medical Management of Peripheral Arterial Disease

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) diagnosis includes medical history, exams, and non-invasive tests. Treatment involves lifestyle changes, medication, and, in severe cases, minimally invasive procedures to improve blood flow to the limbs and prevent complications.

Anticoagulation Management

Anticoagulation management is the careful administration and monitoring of blood-thinning medications to prevent or treat conditions like blood clots and atrial fibrillation. Regular blood tests help adjust dosages to maintain therapeutic levels while minimizing bleeding risk. It's essential for preventing clot-related complications and improving cardiovascular health.
